Drive 3 supercars for 3 miles each. A nice way to sample a variety of cars without breaking the bank. And this experience is available UK wide too.
I like supercar experiences because they give you a chance to compare and contrast some of the world’s fastest and best supercars. They’re one of the timeless classics of the experience world too – they’re affordable, exciting and dotted around the UK, so there’s sure to be one near you.

What do you get on a supercar experience?
Supercar experience days include all sorts of cars, and usually give you the chance to drive a few different vehicles, including Ariel Atoms, Aston Martins, Audi R8s, Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghinis and so on….you get the idea!
Once you’ve booked, you’ll turn up at the local race track or airfield with your driving licence. You’ll be allocated a car and a professional driver to site next to you – they’ll tell you the rules: no drinking, no stunts, no crashing, all that sort of thing.
Then you’ll turn on the engine, put your foot down and screech onto the track. The variations in the experiences are different cars, different numbers of laps and sometimes an extra passenger thrill lap, where the professional driver tries to show what the car is capable of.
Which experience? Alasdair’s top tip
The amount you pay is usually directly related to the amount of time behind the wheel and the number of different cars. With these experiences, the more you pay, the more you get!
How fast can I drive?
It’s a private track, so as fast as the car will go. You’ll usually find that that you can treat the car as roughly as you want. The pro driver sitting next to you might tell you to give over if you’re burning rubber or driving dangerously, but as real petrolheads themselves, they like to see a bit of aggressive acceleration and help you get the most from your driving experience.
You need a full driving licence to take part
If you want to drive a supercar, you’ll need a full driving licence. that’s really important, because a full driving licence is needed to cover the insurance etc. If you haven’t got a licence, they won’t let you drive. However you don’t need a licence for the passenger thrill laps where you’re driven by the professional, and you don’t need a licence to take part in a junior supercar experience.
What are thrill rides?
If you can’t drive, then don’t worry. All these race tracks offer ride-along experiences, where a trained racing driving takes the wheel on a thrill ride, and demonstrate the awesome power of these cars can provide when you really know what you’re doing.
A lot of the experiences below come with a couple of thrill laps driven by the expert too, so you don’t need to lose out if you’re taking the wheel yourself.
If you can’t choose
There are literally hundreds of different supercar experiences and it can get a bit confusing if you don’t know the exact one you want. If you’re buying a gift for someone who loves supercars but you don’t know which specific experience to buy, why not buy them a Supercar Thrill Choice options voucher. They’ll get a voucher to choose from the full range at Virgin Experience Days so they’ll get the excitement of getting a supercar gift and can choose the exact experience they want.
Here’s a list of all the UK’s top supercar experience gifts
Watch out though, there are a lot of them! I’ve removed the ‘blast’ experiences because I don’t feel they are worth the time and money, but there are many more supercar days that are amazing. Have a look at the list below to see what I mean, and they’re all available throughout the UK so they’re a perfect gift.Access denied. Your IP address is blacklisted.
