Segway Polo is the new sport that everybody’s talking about. Pick up a Segway experience for yourself and see what it’s all about.

This is the one that everybody is buying.
So what is Segway?
A Segway is a brilliant two wheeled electric cycle, but with the wheels side by side, that’s so much fun you wouldn’t believe. It stays upright even when at a standstill by the weird effect of gyroscopic action, and yet can reach speeds of nearly 20 mph. All battery-powered.
Segways are illegal on the roads in the UK, (though some US states allow them), so unless you’ve got £5k plus to spare and a private estate to ride it on, the only way you’ll get your hands on one of these bad boys over here is to buy a Segway experience where you get to hire one and sprint about on it on private property.
The Segway is equally at home on roads or woodland paths, and Segway racing is all part of the excitement. You can find my main Segway page here.
So what about Segway Polo then?
Think Polo, with men on horses with sticks whacking a little ball across a field using a mallet with a long handle. But instead of horses, think Segways.
It’s just starting off in the UK, and to take part you’ll need to be pretty handy on a Segway. So a Segway experience is the first step, where you get instruction in all the secrets of handling your machine and learn how it’s done. And believe me, it’s pretty simple to master, and you’ll soon be whizzing about with the wind flying past your helmet!
At the time of writing (April 2015), you can’t book a Segway Polo experience in the UK. But that shouldn’t stop you learning all about how to master your Segway for when the craze reaches somewhere near you.
Buy my recommended experience at the top of the page, or if you want to search them all, here is a bang-up-to-date list of all those available in the UK, with prices updated every day. Check them out – but be warned, there are A LOT of them!!
You can find more information about Segways on my Segway page, and as soon as Segway Polo is released onto the UK public, I’ll update this post.
