What kind of climbing experiences are there?
The great thing about climbing experiences is that there’s one to suit just about anybody.
There are short indoor ones for beginners, there are longer ones both indoors and outdoors if you want a bit more of a challenge, right up to live sessions climbing in the likes of Glencoe or Snowdonia.
Rock climbers are catered for, and even ice climbers (or would-be ice climbers) will find there are experiences just right for them too.
And don’t worry about getting frostbite if you fancy trying your hand at ice climbing – there are gigantic indoor ice walls complete with instructors who will give you one to one tuition in the skills you’ll need.
What happens on a climbing or ice climbing experience?
The details will vary depending on which one you pick, but basically you’ll be in a small group of others, but will receive one to one tuition to make your climbing day rewarding and enjoyable.
Indoor climbing facilities (rock and ice) are within reach of most of the UK, but for real-life rocks, ice and mountains, you’ll have to travel to where the rocks, ice and mountains are.
All levels of skill from beginner upwards are catered for, and your instructor will make it his (or her) job to keep you safe and make you proficient.
It’s quite popular for a small group of friends or colleagues to book one of these experiences together too – it’ll give you a common experience to enjoy and discuss, and make a great change from an office night out at the pub!!
Give a climbing experience for a gift with that thoughtful touch
Show your thoughtfulness by ditching the traditional gifts this birthday or Christmas, and give a climbing experience.
It’s the gift that keeps on giving, and the skill and knowledge that the recipients will learn is the stuff to last a lifetime!
